Adding a touch of nostalgia, a Corten steel artwork of a heritage bus honors Fred Hawkins, the lookout's namesake.

Wisemans Ferry Park

Wisemans Ferry Park has plenty to offer, including walking tracks, BBQs (electric and wood—just bring your own firewood), picnic areas, a playground for the kids, public toilets, and a kiosk. And a little river beach with amazing mountain views!

Located right on the Hawkesbury River next to the ferry, it’s known as the northern gateway to the Shire.

The park also features a Wetlands Complex, which is an important habitat for local wildlife like frogs and small birds. It's one of the last remaining wetland areas in the Shire and is home to the threatened Osprey (Pandion haliaetus).

If you're into nature, check out the 'no mow zone'—an area of regenerating wetland along the riverbank. This spot used to be mowed regularly, but since that stopped, the wetland has bounced back, bringing native birds with it.

Dogs are welcome in the park, but must be kept on a leash.
